Joggers are the latest trend in loungewear - and with good reason. They’re roomier than leggings, but less bulky than sweats. They’re comfortable but don’t require you to sacrifice style because there are so many cute styles and they go with nearly everything from sweatshirts to tank tops. And last but certainly not least, they have pockets!

Joggers are also notably versatile. Although they were made for jogging, as can be deduced from the name, they have become a staple in many people’s everyday wardrobe. This means you can see people wearing joggers at the gym, when going out with friends, spending the night in, or crawling into bed.

Because joggers are so versatile, there are many different ways to style them. Let us be your guide for styling your jogger look from the yoga studio to brunch with the girls.

Gym Look

The Puma Dance Jacquard Sports Bra and Puma Dance Jacquard Joggers are a match made in heaven to keep you cool during your workout.

Sometimes you have to keep it simple and wear joggers for what they were actually made for - to workout in! Think lifting weights, yoga, and of course, jogging!

Our favorite way to style joggers for the gym is with a simple thin-strapped sports bra and sneakers.

Since your joggers will keep you warm, pairing them with a sports bra will keep you cool as you workout. A sports bra is also simple enough not to draw attention away from what you really want to show off - your joggers!

Sneakers are a staple for any workout look, but they look especially stylish with joggers. They’re kind of a way of saying, yeah I’m practically in sweatpants, but I’m in sneakers, too, so I’m working out.

Attending Class

Pair your joggers with a cardigan like the Free People Take a Walk Cardi and a tank top underneath for a cute and comfortable look.

Besides the addition of a backpack, there are other ways to style joggers for a full day of studying at the library or attending classes.

Pairing your joggers with a knit cardigan and a tank top is a 50/50 split between cute and comfy. Where you would typically wear jeans with a knit cardigan and tank top, you wear joggers instead to keep comfortable for a full day of studying hard.

Wearing a cute outfit helps you be more productive, but so does wearing a comfy one, so this is a perfect combination of the two to ensure that you have a productive day ahead of you.

Out to Brunch

If you want to go to brunch in style (for the photos with the girls!), but are too lazy to put a whole outfit together, throw a blazer on over your joggers and head out the door.

The addition of a blazer makes your look more sophisticated and chic, while the joggers with a stretchy waistband allow you to truly take advantage of bottomless mimosas at brunch.

A blazer is also a good addition to a jogger look if you’re the kind of person who is always cold. Instead of pairing your joggers with a sweatshirt making you look like you literally just rolled out of bed, a blazer gives you air of someone who has their life together.

On the Couch

The Dona Jo Basic Jogger is a must have for embracing comfort and style, and pairing it with a matching top gives off the impression of an effortless loungewear look.

The best way to style your joggers for a night on the couch is by pairing them with a matching top.

Wearing the same color top and bottoms gives the illusion of a fancy loungewear set, when in reality, all you did was match colors correctly.

The matching loungewear look is our favorite way to style joggers for a night at home because it looks so effortless. It looks like you simply picked a color and stuck with it, when in reality you are doing one small thing in order to give off the impression of an effortless look.

You don’t want to be the person that goes all out just to spend the night in, but you don’t want to spend another day in sweats and a hoodie, so this is the perfect middle ground.

Traveling

The Asos Design Petite Tracksuit Oversized Hoodie can be paired with joggers for a comfortable yet slimming travel look that you just can’t get with sweatpants.

When traveling, whether by car, bus, train, or plane, comfort is of the utmost priority. That’s why we recommend you pair your joggers with an oversized hoodie when traveling.

An oversized hoodie allows for maximum comfort and contrasts nicely with the tighter look of joggers. Pairing an oversized hoodie with full blown sweats might be too baggy and hot, but joggers change the game completely.

Don’t worry about looking frumpy, your priority is getting where you need to be - you can look good when you get there! For now, just throw on your comfiest pair of joggers and hoodie and enjoy your trip!

Off To Bed

Pull a pair of Aerie Fuzzy Crew Socks over the bottoms of your joggers to stay warm and cozy as you jump into bed.

If you’re heading to bed in your joggers, our favorite easy way to style them is with a t-shirt and fuzzy socks.

Any t-shirt will do - as long as you’re comfy! After all, you are only wearing this outfit to bed. But we know that some people still like to keep it cute in their sleep. We recommend an oversized t-shirt for maximum comfort and an effortless look.

Pull your fuzzy socks over the bottoms of your joggers for a cute look that will also keep you warm, and if you’re the kind of person who needs to take their socks off when you sleep, just take them off when it’s time to go to bed for real.

The Takeaway

Joggers are an extremely versatile clothing item. You can wear them for nearly anything, from working from home to working out. Styling joggers with ease may not come naturally to you, but that’s why we made this guide.

Here are some key takeaways:

  • For the gym, pair your joggers with a thin-strapped sports bra and sneakers
