All the best trends in athleticwear that you’ll want to rock for the fall season this year.

Boy, it must be a stressful time to be a kid. Now, I know the inclination here usually is to look back upon childhood with rose-tinted glasses. To remember the positives and the romance and slyly forget all of the goofs and guffaws that went along with them. But I think if we were being honest you and I both know that being a kid? Is no walk in the park. Kids have it rough these days. When you’re a kid you are constantly feeling a million feelings. Yet you have no outlet for them. You’re stuck stewing in your emotions, bad or good until maybe one of your friends can take your mind off of it during recess. Now factor in the fact that not only do kids have to deal with all of the rumor milling and bullying that we did. Now they can't escape it, because most of that bullying occurs on Twitter. There's no avenue for these kids anymore. So it’s easy to see why some kids might be pretty stressed out. That's why it's up to us as the adults in their lives to support them. To tell them that it's ok to make mistakes, and to give them the confidence they need to make those leaps. One little thing that we can do to take the edge off our kids, is to get them into some comfortable clothing. Hey, it’s tough to go to school every day, but it’s a lot tougher to go to school in a pair of chinos that chaffe like no other. It is the least we can do to at least let our kids be comfortable. So that's why I’ve created this ultimate guide to athleisure. First to define what exactly athleisure is. And second, to give you some great tips and tricks on implementing them into your kiddo’s closet!

What Is Athleisure?

Put simply, athleisure is a trend that started in the early 2010s and stormed the public consciousness. This is a type of clothing made specifically with wearability in mind. Athleisure is meant to be comfortable. You are meant to be able to wear these clothing items for hours at a time and remain relaxed after. While they come in many different styles. Athleisure tends to lean in one of either two directions. The hyper formal, or the casual streetwear. Now the hyper formal looks great in an office-like setting, but it might be a little intense to go to school in. My suggestion for your kid is to take the streetwear approach. This casually cool outfit fits with almost any body type and is a great way to stay comfortable in class while still looking fashionable. If you’re looking for an example, check out these leggings for tweens. They come in a wide array of styles and look simply marvelous when worn. These are perfect for the young teen in your life who’s looking to make a statement without drawing too much attention to yourself!

The Why of Athleisure?

Now, you as an adult might be reading this wondering. “Why Athleisure?” I know I know back in your day wearing an ironic band t-shirt and flannel was the easiest way to stand out in school. But times change gramps! You’ve got to embrace the “now”. And currently, the “now” is streetwear and athleisure. Since the proliferation of the internet and social media. The life cycles of trends have become halved of what they were previously. Gone are the days when you can wear a shirt that was popular four years ago, and no one would notice. Now we exist in this kind of peculiar realm of always online fast fashion. Athleisure benefits from this because its open-ended approach to style lets it react flexibly with the changing trends of the world that surrounds it! To wear athleisure is to be aware of that purpose. Like the clothes themselves, the wearer tends to be lightweight, comfortable, and dynamically suited to their purpose. This is why athleisure works so well for kids. As you see kids are the most comfortable, dynamic, and flexible kind of people that exist!

When you’re trying to find a style for your kids it can be tough. You’ve been out of the fashion game for some time, and you feel a little rusty. You don’t know exactly what’s in anymore, or who any of the latest designers are. And that’s fine! No one is saying you need to be a fashion guru to help your kids find their style. The only thing you need to be is there for your kids. Providing the support they need to try out new styles. To experiment and make mistakes. Sometimes as a parent it's hard to know if you’re doing the right thing. But taking the time to be there for your kids is a great start!
